TUE business card

A business card for the Unclosing Eye Detective Agency.

The Unclosing Eye Detective Agency was started by former Circle City detective Keith Sorrels and his 'secretary,' the brain belonging to Dr. Frederick Hardesty. While their original headquarters was located in a room in Motel 66, the agency has historically had difficulty maintaining office space.

Members[]

The following characters are currently in the employ of the Unclosing Eye Detective Agency:

  • Keith Sorrels - former CCPD detective and chief investigator for the Unclosing Eye.
  • Dr. Frederick Hardesty - former inventor and current brain-in-a-box; currently serving as 'secretary' for the Unclosing Eye.
  • Carolyn Pelfrey - former demon-possessed cultist who has an extensive knowledge of and experience with the occult.
  • Ryan Tolliver - former cemetery groundskeeper and amnesiac and current fugitive from the law with some experience thwarting evil.

Cases[]

The following are cases that have been worked by the Unclosing Eye Detective Agency:

The Lunablood Case[]

Seen at the beginning of "The Unclosing Eye," Keith and Hardesty track down a younger member of the Lunablood family - a family of Skin-Walkers - who has been creating mayhem around Old Scratch Creek.

The Codex Case[]

During the major action of "The Unclosing Eye," Keith and Hardesty are hired by a former colleague within the CCPD who reports an ancient book stolen. After tracking the book to bomb shelter owned by a fanatic fringe member of the Boonies, Keith inadvertently kills the cultist and retrieves the book, which Hardesty discovers is the Codex Reclusioned Alio in Oculo, or 'The Unclosing Eye,' which gives Sorrels the idea for the name of the agency.

The Burke Case[]

During the major action of The Devil Doll, Keith gives Carolyn Pelfrey a trial assignment to see if she'd like to join the agency full-time. She is tasked with capturing a devil doll loose within a curio shop owned by Bailey Burke. Once there, Carolyn is able to get hold of the possessed doll with a pair of holy fireplace tongs that Keith had blessed and secure the evil toy in the cross box, thus neutralizing the threat. This case made Carolyn realize she, too, wanted to help right the wrongs of her past as part of the Unclosing Eye.

The Mausoleum Case[]

Three months after the major action of The Devil Doll, Keith is seen wandering the corridors of a mausoleum in the Circle City Cemetery, hunting down a wayward vampire. After encountering it in a hallway, he signals Carolyn, who grabs her vampire bat and rushes in to aid him.

The Hospital Rescue Case[]

At the beginning of "The Colonnades," Keith and Carolyn are engaged in breaking amnesiac groundskeeper Ryan Tolliver out of a hospital room where he is being kept under surveillance.

The Colonnades Case[]

The main action of "The Colonnades" involves Keith and Carolyn using information obtained from Ryan Tolliver to find and rescue Sorrels' old partner, Alex Heaney.
